Visit Us Polices
You agree to travel to our properties at your own expense
All travel expenses are at your expense (with the exception of your 2 night stay at our Guest House). They include your international flights, hotel stays and commuter flights. We do get preferred rates in some hotels but your international flights will need to be booked by your travel agent. The commuter flight is approximately $65.00USD per person each way.A valid passport that will not expire within 90 days of arrival is required for travel to Costa Rica.
Please come prepared
To reserve a lot of your choice, we would be happy to accept your personal check as a 10% deposit. We regret that no properties can be reserved without a deposit.
The commuter flight to and from our properties
Possibly the most scenic flight you've ever been on. The flight leave 6 times daily from San Jose's international airport and lands daily. This flight is by far the best way to see Costa Rica's Mountains and Pacific Coast and as a property purchaser is an important part of your buying research. The flight reservations have to be pre-booked to insure seating. When we receive your 'Client Visit Application', we book your seats on your behalf and we will meet you when you land in Tambor.
The return flight from Tambor to San Jose leaves 6 times daily and arrives back at the San Jose international airport.
Driving to our properties
Although Costa Rica is fully accessible by car (better yet a 4x4), we prefer that on your first visit to our developments that you follow our recommendations and take the commuter flight to our properties.
Construction, weather, traffic, language barrier, car problems, poor directions can all result in your delay to our developments and as with any company we have a schedule to maintain. With the commuter flight we know where you will be and what time you will be there taking the stress out of your visit and our concern.
Children on your first visit
Costa Rica is wonderful for children of all ages but we do have an age limit of 12 years old for children visiting us here.
The reason is that we consider your stay here to be a professional trip and parents usually are distracted when their children are present. At times, it's a difficult for us when we are answering questions from parents and/or other guests while the children are demanding attention.
The property tour can be long for children and other guests in the car would have to listen to the children's understandable discontentment.
Costa Rica is perfect for kids, there is so much for them to do as you will see but our guest house is more of a place of business than a home setting or vacation destination. We hope that you understand this policy.
Your stay with us is for 2 nights
Our experience has shown us that two days here is plenty of time for our guests to see the developments and get all the information needed to make an educated property purchase decision.
Staying here longer than 2 nights
If you wish to spend more time in our area , we can recommend suitable hotels.
General Information
Your visit confirmation from us
Once we receive your completed 'Client Visit Application' we will immediately start to schedule your accommodations with us and book all of your requested reservations and flights. A 'Welcome' confirmation will be emailed to you from 'OWN COSTA RICA' once all final arrangements have been made and will include a complete itinerary and reservation confirmations.
Clothing you should bring
San Jose is a major city in which you may want to bring clothing to suit your travel plans.
But in our area you will want to limit your packing to very comfortable clothing. Shorts, socks, running/walking shoes, golf/tee-shirts, a light jacket, full length pants, sun hat/cap, and a bathing suit is just about all you'll need.
